First; Thanks for letting me join this group. Searching the history has been helpful. Now, on to the issue.I was in the process of evaluating a new antenna using WSPR, the mKII and my IC-756Pro II when the Icom decided to cease transmitting. Not a problem I naively thought, I’ll use my FT-897 and matching microHam interface cable to quickly get back on the air.☹After swapping in different PCs, cables, hubs and even a mKIII, it became clear WSJT-X and mKII/III do not play together. I still needed to work with the antenna, so I ended up with the following configuration:Win 10 PC with USB links to the mKII and a 3rd party (Amazon generic) Yaesu CAT cable attached to the FT-897. The Yaesu’s Data connector is still connected to the mKII. WSJT-X is fine with the generic USB-CAT cable to control frequency/mode and keying the Yaesu via the PTT(2) routed to the mKII.

If I go into settings and press the buttons to test mode selection in the bottom right the rig changes properly. Was hoping someone else had run into this issue with their Yaesu FT-897 and the General logging program. I’m using the RT Systems CAT Cable if that makes a difference. The FT-897’s CAT System allows the transceiver to be controlled by a personal computer. This allows multiple control operations to be fully automated as a single mouse click, or it allows a third-party software package (such as contest logging software) to communicate with the FT-897 without (redundant) operator intervention.
(I did discover that the mKII wants the radio selection to be changed to no radio:DIG.)I’m back on the air, but less than satisfied, especially long term, with my solution. Is there a better way to work with WSJT-X/WSPR but still afford myself of some of the other capabilities of the microKeyers?Regards Bill Hamilton KC8NJM. After swapping in different PCs, cables, hubs and even a mKIII, it became clear WSJT-X and mKII/III do not play together.WSJT-X and MK II/MK III work together just fine. I've used themfor many years (back to the first beta versions of WSJT-X).Start by connecting MK II/MK III to the FT-897 and configuringthe CAT connection (Router CAT - Set).
Joe, thanks for replying. Unfortunately I have tried all of your suggestions, including reading the application note. (By the way, HRD does CAT does work via the router.)? Apparently at least some of the previous versions of WSJT-X were able to work, but a real problem with the current version. I am able to view the CAT command stream in the router, but it is a no-go from the app. WSJT-X is able to successfully communicate with the rig via the no-name USB-CAT interface cables.Regards Bill Hamilton KC8NJM. (By the way, HRD does CAT does work via the router.)Then I would say there is certainly a problem withhamlib/WSJT-X and the appropriate avenue is to raisethe issue on the WSJT-X list.Hamlib is.notorious.
for issues with WSJT-X.73. Joe Subich, W4TVmicroHAM AmericaOn 2019-02-11 9:28 PM, Bill Hamilton KC8NJM wrote:Joe, thanks for replying. Unfortunately I have tried all of your suggestions, including reading the application note.

Did someone find some solution about MK2 and FT-8x7 CAT connections? There is no problem with MK II and CAT connections.
Make sure you areusing the correct cable (DB37FT-MINI8) and have set data communicationsparameters (4800,8,N,2) correctly in both in your digital/logging/control software and Router (CAT - Set).73.
